Healing Hands for Haiti is a non-profit organization
that goes to Haiti on a regular basis to help the
handicapped. For more information about what we do,
please go to our website:
We have teams all over the US and Canada who volunteer
to go on medical trips as well as serve on a volunteer
basis on committees over their area of expertise.
We are always looking for volunteers, particularly
those in the following areas: physical & occupational
therapy, orthotists/prosthetists, nurses, doctors
(particularly those with rehabilitative expertise),
translators, and support staff (this last category
basically makes it possible for anybody to participate
with our organization).
We are in particular need of putting together a team
of people in the Miami area. Ironically, we have
teams in Wisconson, Minnesota, Utah, California,
Oregon, Arizona, New Brunswick-Canada, but none in
those areas where there are a lot of Haitians. The
team in Miami would be key, not only in sending teams
to Haiti, but also helping us coordinate different
projects, such as shipping, networking amongst other
Haitians, and coordinating donated supplies in your
area. We have an immediate need of an
Orthotist/Prosthetist in the Miami area who can help
us coordinate with the Barr Foundation, a non-profit
organization who donates prosthetic/orthotic supplies.
If you know of anybody who’d be interested in
participating in this project, please email me.
