To those List Members who use servises of Cortex EDI.
In or about September of 2002, when we started our preparation for HIPAA compliance, we mailed Business Assiciates Agreement to Cortex EDI. They “thought” about it for severam months and then replied with a single page letter, stating that they don’t have an attorney on staff and were not signing the Agreement, as it contained complicated legal language. Instead, they outlined in their letter basic points of their compliance with HIPAA in simple terms. I am sure most of you received that letter as well.
Question: did you go back to them requesting that they sign the Agreement? And did they? In not, what should our course of action be? I like their services and continue using them, however compliance with HIPAA is of much higher importance.
I’d like to hear your thoughts before I call them back.
