Chopart amputation

G KH

Dear Colleagues

I remember a few weeks back we had a comparison between chopart and syme
under discussion. Count one more for the chopart victims. I can
personally say now that the prognosis and compliance would be enhanced
enormously if syme is done instead of Chopart.

We had a patient with neuroma just at the distal-anterior aspect of the
calcaneus. He had general tenderness on the anterior aspect of the
residual foot. He is already using an artificial foot which is more like
a filling because its made out of leather and is hurting him at the
anterior side when he walks.

If you could help us by suggesting what design would be appropriate for
this patient, we would be very much obliged.

Thanks in advance.
