I have a female patient with a suction socket BE that makes =93the
unsociable=94 fart sound often. I suggested wearing a nylon sheath and
she then loses suspension. A 1 ply sock makes the socket too tight. I
cut a =BC=94 hole in the distal posterior aspect of the socket in an =
attempt
to allow air to escape (valve), but this really did nothing. I would
have made the hole bigger if it helped reduce the noise any, but it
didn=92t seem to make any difference at all. The noise seems to be
originating right at the brim. Any suggestions? I=92m out of ideas. =
