The prospect of a Medicare competitive bidding program for orthotic services

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced in the July
26 Federal Register that it will finally begin holding negotiated rulemaking
meetings concerning the Benefits Improvement and Protection Act (BIPA) of
2000. These meetings will give AOPA and other chosen parties the opportunity
to have a say in how the BIPA regulations are written.
