History of Prosthetics Essay

Jeff Reznick

Members of the O&P Community,

Those of you interested in the history of prosthetics will welcome an essay recently published in the Journal of Design History (Oxford University Press). It is entitled “Better legs: Artificial limbs for British veterans of the First World War,” and an abstract of the piece appears here:

http://www3.oup.co.uk/design/hdb/Volume_14/Issue_04/140307.sgm.abs.html

Alternatively, you can reach the article through the online index of the journal issue:

Links to historical resources like these will soon be available as part of the forthcoming OPAF O&P Awareness Initiative. This project fits with OPAF’s mission to help raise public awareness of the fields of orthotics and prosthetics.

As always, thank you for your continued support of OPAF programs and partnerships. Our web site is always up to date, so you can always learn more about us at http://www.opfund.org/about/ or by contacting us here in our offices.

Sincerely and with all best wishes,

Jeff
