Hi Nadia,

I had missed your mail earlier. Very interesting to read views expressed from various professionals.

To begin with,I am congenital BK amp. and have a wide practical experience towards self usage and in developing a articulating prosthetic foot to bring relief to the frictional forces exerted on the stump.

I remember in my single digit age, I was advised never use crape sole shoes. then in teens it was also mentioned never purchase flat soles.then a decade back I asked my CP why does the shoe sole of prosthetic foot gets worn out rapidly only at certain points, being a patient there was no satisfactory answer.

Lately way back around 1995 I personally started innovating with various materials and designs and with god’s grace I reached my achievement towards my prosthetic foot that mimics nearest to my natural ankle movements, hence over came corrective surgery of stump which was earlier advised by various professionals here and abroad as the only solution / remedy to improve my restricted mobility, I referred to the principles of Prof. Mark Pitkin articles in POI Journals.

In a nutshell try to maintain the same contours of the natural feet also same ankle movements to attain ultimate efficiency and comfort.

Kind Regards
