I have a 62 yr. old gentleman whom is a transtibial amputee secondary to MVA. He was fitted with a temporary prosthesis consisting of Alps silicone liner, Durasleeve suspension with expulsion valve, adjustable modular endoskeletal system with Quantum flex keel foot. He is currently wearing ten ply.
The problem we are having is with blister formations in the weight bearing soft tissue areas. We have tried wearing the socks against his skin and out side the liner with no success. This patient will not accept inactivity nor non Prosthetic wear as a solution. My next step is to try a lubricant against his skin and wearing the socks outside the liner once again.
I feel we have an intimate socket fit, excellent suspension, and a properly aligned Prosthesis.
Any tips/suggestions that have worked in the past will be much appreciated!
