I have heard that Hanger is orchestrating a mass personnel reduction. This
is
currently just rumor as far as I am concerned. Can anybody verify this one
way or another.
Word has it they have fired or laid off over 250 people nation wide. I am
not
sure, but I think this is professional staff. I know of 7 practitioners in
the last mo. to 6 weeks personally. There have been 5 ABC certified
practitioners in Oregon alone. I may be wrong but I believe this represents
about one-third of their practitioner work force in OR.
This is devastating peoples lives. Is it happening nation wide as I have
heard? Is it based on profitability? Is there anything as an industry we can
do to help these people? If what I am hearing is true this is a crisis that
needs to be explored. How often does an entire industry find seven percent
of
it’s national work force unemployed?
