Re: Suggestions

Treat it as a trans-femoral and contain the tisses as best as you can. You

might be surprised how quickly this child will be up and going. These are

the kind of cases that make your hair grow gray. The surgeon probably should

have taken the time to say “please help me with this case.” I don’t know

what, when, or how I am going to surgically correct this child. In the

meantime, I need your help and the ball is in your court. Thank you for your

assistance. I owe you one.”

Do they want a knee joint? I’m scratching my head, but thinking bale lock,

an elastic locking strap in the back, and perhaps a trigger lock release.

Otherwise, I am not familiar with any prosthetic components that would work

for someone this small. Just a thought. I assume the residual limb is

longer than the knee center of the contralateral side.

This, however, sounds almost like a PFFD or a close cousin.

Please don’t post this to everyone on the web. You may summarize, but don’t

use my name or email. I don’t need others calling me. I appreciate your

attention to this.
