hemophilia

Dan Munoz

Dear List Serve Members:

I have been asked to help present a lecture with one of our pediatric

physical therapists. The proposed topic is orthotic intervention for the

hemophilia patient. We are a regional hemophilia center here at UC Davis.

The audience would be mainly therapists who work with hemophilia patients.

Currently, we provide various types of orthoses for this patient population

(anything from custom neoprene ankle sleeves to custom AFO’s and KO’s).

Bleeding at the collapsing ankle joint seems to be the main problem.

However, I do not have a lot of published information addressing this

specific topic. I would be pleased to have anyone share their thoughts

regarding orthotic intervention (materials, design principles, etc.) and/or

pass on any leads on published material.

Thank You

Dan Munoz CO
