cost of halos: more replies

My original post pondered the reasons for the high wholesale cost of halo

orthoses and one respondant said he had heard of a facility that had reused

halos. Here’s a response to that discussion in regards to potential

liability of such an action:

The practitioner would bear all responsibility as the mal-practice insurance

specifically lists that re-used parts are not covered by this insurance,

which means if the company also has a contract which specifies insurance

coverage they are also in abeyance of that requirement. I would also suggest

that it is also against the code of ethics for both ABC & BOC to practice

what amounts to actions that are severely detrimental to the patients health

and well being.
