student project

Andrew Kelly

Dear list readers,

I was wondering if any one out there could give a college student a

hand. I am a senior ME at Villanova and my design group and I have

chosen to design and hopefully build a lower leg(below the knee) aquatic

specific prosthetic for our Professor. We have been considering and all

aluminum design with possibly some kind of plastic/rubber molded fin

shape for the foot. We are looking mainly looking for of a functional

limb a no hassle well designed swimming prosthetic for recreational use

in salt, fresh and chlorinated water. This won’t be something that will

be used for extended periods. We are currently working from his old

prosthetic. I am wondering if anyone can help with ways of going about

designing some thing of this nature. If someone has any ideas, internet

sources or old fashioned books or any thing else that would help I would

be very grateful.

Thank you,

Andrew Kelly ([email protected])
