OANDP-L Guidelines and Usage Instructions (please save for future

Paul E. Prusakowski

Hello everyone,

Just a review here of the basic guidelines for oandp-l usage.

1. Commercial postings are NOT allowed

2. Responses to questions should be sent privately then summarized or

compiled by the person who asked the question and reposted for everyone else

to learn from as well

3. Keep open public dialogue to a minimum. OANDP-L is not intended to be a

chat room, so please refrain from prolonging open discussions beyond

necessity.

4. Be respectful of others. This is an international professional forum.

Act appropriately, and remember that sarcasm does not translate well in

typed messages. Vulgarity is unacceptable.

5. Please use descriptive subject lines.

6. When discussing US-Politics, be sure to use US-Politics: as the first

part of the subject line. (for more information, see the US-Politics section

at the bottom of this message)

7. DO NOT post unsubscribe requests to all 1500 users! If you cannot

successfully unsubscribe

using the instructions that are at the bottom of every message, please

contact me directly at [email protected]

and I will take care of it for you. If I don’t get to it immediately,

please be patient. If you

would like it done very quickly, I do accept cash, check, or credit cards 😉

The following are some basic instructions for using features of oandp-l.

Please save for reference.

Thank you.

DIGEST-

What is Digest?

Digest is a feature that is especially helpful for people who don’t check

their mailboxes every day. If you feel as if you are becoming overwhelmed

with the shear volume of messages which are posted to oandp-l, DIGEST will

package up all the messages from the day and send you one compact e-mail per

day that is sure to be chock-full of fun. Instead of being overwhelmed by a

lot of individual messages, you can be overwhelmed by just one!

How do I set my subscription to Digest?

Send a mail message to : [email protected]

In the body of the message, type: set oandp-l digest

Send the message. You should receive a confirmation message.

————————————

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT-

Ever wonder if your message really went through? This feature will send a

response to you that states that your message went through.

How to set acknowledgement:

Send a mail message to : [email protected]

In the body of the message, type: set oandp-l ack

Send the message. You should receive a confirmation message.

————————————–

UNSUBSCRIBING

Send a mail message to : [email protected]

In the body of the message, type: unsubscribe oandp-l

If your mail program has different settings than your original subscription

settings, you will have difficulty unsubscribing yourself. If this is the

case, contact me directly and things will be taken care of.

US-POLITICS

US-Politics will be defined as anything that is not a discussion

of clinical orthotics and prosthetics, but relates to US professional

or industry organizations, US professional regulation (or lack there of),

and US educational standards (or lack there of), etc. Since other nations

have not created any disruption, we will not worry about other problems

until they arise.

Secondly, and most importantly, there is a standard which MUST be used when

posting to oandp-l:

All postings which fall under the description of US Politics MUST

contain the following syntax in the subject line, exactly as you see it

here:

US-Politics:

There MUST be a dash between US and Politics, and there must be a colon

after it.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO RECEIVE POSTINGS RELATED TO US-POLITICS, FOLLOW THESE

INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY:

Send a message to: [email protected]

In the body of the message type:

Set oandp-l topics

-US-Politics

Now send the message and you shall be free of all US-Politics messages.

That is a minus sign before the word US-Politics.

People MUST use exact syntax in the subject for US-Politics. We will refer

to the subject line from now on as

US DASH POLITICS: so that people do not forget the dash between the two.
