This message is for the members of the list who have an interest in the
proposed Consolidation.
I thank those of you who have communicated your concerns, questions and
comments about consolidation.
I know individual members of the steering committee answered some of the
communication and I thank them for their response. I am also aware that
additional information is being requested. In order to ensure that all
inquires are addressed, beginning this week, I will gather the information
relayed through this list and provide a synthesized reply once per week. (Most
often on a Monday)
I encourage all stakeholders, AOPA and Academy members, who will ultimately
vote on this to share your comments and questions. Please use this list,

I know membership is one of the issues being discussed. Here are the current
membership numbers. We anticipate the membership of New Organization would
break out approximately the same way.
AOPA 1894 total members of which 752 have the right to vote (Active

In addition to my weekly responses to the list you can expect other
information within the following timeline.
Draft Bylaws – The new Draft Bylaws should be received my members on or about
April 15. Membership will have until May 17 to submit comments either by mail
or email.
Table of Organization and Staffing Assumptions – should be available by May
15.
Financial Proforma – should be available by June 15. They will include a
three year projection of income and expenses and will be organized into low,
medium and high estimates.
Plan of Consolidation – The final plan of consolidation will be ready for
submission to the boards of directors by June 1. Distribution of the Plan to
the memberships will be initiated on June 15.
Voting Ballots – Ballots will be mailed no later than July 10 with a closure
date of no later than August, 20. Compilation of voting results will be
communicated to the boards by September 5.
Phone Call Initiative – The phone campaign to encourage membership votes will
occur on July 15, July 25, August 5, August 15.
Broadcast FAX – Periodic broadcast faxes on various topics will be conducted
on a weekly basis, as necessary. The communications committee is currently
considering the overall process.
