U.S. Politics: Good news!!

Bob Van Hook

Friends,

AOPA has just received word that the Department of Justice, Antitrust

Division, has closed its investigation of the American Orthotic and Prosthetic

Association’s actions in the Veterans’ Administration artificial limbs

contracting process. They could find no evidence that AOPA committed any

wrongdoing. We understand from an AOPA member who was similarly subpoenaed

that the case against him has been closed as well.

Just for the record, AOPA spent about $10,000 defending itself during this

investigation. For what? We knew from the outset that we’d done nothing

wrong.

Thanks to everyone for their confidence and support. It is another victory

for the O&P field.
