As introduction, I serve as Executive Director to the newly created
[as of 7/1/97] Florida Board of Orthotists and Prosthetists, as well as the
Orthotists & Prosthetists Educational Programs Task Force. The Task
Force’s first meeting was held on September 5, 1997, in Orlando and the
Board’s first meeting will be held in Tallahassee on September 22, 1997, @
9AM @ the Doubletree Hotel.
Anyone desiring to contact the Board or Task Force, request
information or ask to be placed on our interested parties mailing list

Applications for licensure are not yet developed pending the Board’s
first meeting and the promulgation of rules to establish fees and other
criteria. Prospective applicants may call or write to be placed on our
mailing list to receive an application packet when they are available later
this fall.
The Task Force will file its recommendations to the Board and
Legislature by 1/15/98.
