The Range of Motion Project NFP (ROMP Global) announced that the Asociación Civil Proyecto de Rangos de Movimiento prosthetics clinic in Zacapa, Guatemala, will begin operating independently from ROMP Global. The 17-year collaboration helped thousands of people with amputations throughout the region.
“When we set out on this journey in 2005, our goal was to create sustainable care in every country where we work. This is a huge step towards that goal and ROMP remains committed to serving the most vulnerable people with amputation in Guatemala,” ROMP said in the announcement.
ROMP will relocate its Guatemalan headquarters to Guatemala City and will open a new prosthetic clinic and fabrication lab. ROMP’s annual Clinical Volunteer Program will be held at the Guatemala City facility in October.
