Patient returning AFO

Randy McFarland

I have a patient who is insisting that I give her a note to verify that she
is dropping off her AFO that we delivered 2 months ago. orthosis. She plans
to use this in hopes of convincing the insurance company to take their
payment back so she’ll be able to get another one in the future. She went
back to her old orthosis for now which I felt was in bad condition and she
refuses to come in for further follow-up. We wrote off her portion in good
faith.

Has anyone had an insurance company succeed in recouping their payment
because the patient returned their device?

Thanks,
