State-of-the-Art Facility Dedicated to Clinical Education and R&D Celebrates Grand Opening March 6 and 7.
Össur and Evolution Industries are proud to announce the grand opening of the new Össur Academy in Orlando, Florida.
As the first comprehensive facility in the United States dedicated to product testing, research, and clinical education of noninvasive orthopedic technologies, Össur Academy Orlando will give O&P practitioners the opportunity to work directly with clinical and biomechanical engineering experts, and participate in advanced clinical education, product testing, and research and development. From osteoarthritis (OA) and injury solutions that improve stability and relieve pain, to cutting edge prosthetic limbs that offer the closest prospect yet to replicating natural motion, Össur’s products represent the latest and best in orthopedic design.

6,000-Square-Foot State-of-the-Art Facility
Össur Academy Orlando is housed in a new, 6,000-sq.-ft. facility that features the latest in advanced motion-tracking software and state-of-the-art equipment for evaluating orthotics and prosthetics performance. Specialty equipment includes a pressure-measuring treadmill, a 30-foot Solo-Step ceiling-mounted walking system, and a four-foot-tall ramp and modular stairs. A 110-foot running track, water rowing machine, and 3D virtual sports simulator provide additional opportunities to evaluate patients’ gait performance during various physical challenges.
The two-day grand opening celebration begins March 6 with renowned speakers who will address the latest developments in O&P clinical education, product innovation, and patient outcome improvements. The celebration continues March 7 with specialized training courses on such topics as functional assessments, reimbursement policies, best practices in treating OA, trends affecting the O&P profession, and a bracing technologies workshop. Attendees also will have an up-close look at Össur’s latest innovations, including the new RHEO KNEE® 3, the latest generation of the groundbreaking bionic microprocessor knee.
