U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary
Mike Leavitt announced a two-year plan designed to protect Medicare
beneficiaries from fraudulent suppliers of durable medical
equipment, prosthetics, and orthotics, according to a press release
from HHS. The initiative is focused on preventing deceptive
companies from operating in southern Florida and California.
