Students from the University of Washington’s Master of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics (MSOP) program hosted a day-long First Swing Learn to Golf Training and Clinic at the university’s driving range facility. The morning session was led by National Amputee Golf Association First Swing instructor Bob Tipton, PT, who gave information about how to teach golf to people with physical challenges with an emphasis on safety and adaptive equipment.
This was the second time UW students have hosted a First Swing event, under the direction of OPAF and The First Clinics, and there were several repeat attendees among the 18 participants. The students are responsible for securing the venue and sponsors, and arranging the marketing of the event.
