AMERICAN ACADEMY OF ORTHOTISTS & PROSTHETISTS
The American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists (the Academy) has identified a list of O&P research priorities. We are confident that this list will help bridge knowledge gaps in O&P research by serving as a resource to inform future funding initiatives.
The Academy’s Research Council’s mission is to provide research education for O&P professionals, to enhance the profession’s research capacity, and to produce O&P secondary knowledge resources that advance evidence-based practice.
The council has worked hard to establish a process to identify and prioritize research topic statements that describe current knowledge gaps with the greatest clinical need.
The resulting list has been provided to funding agencies to inform research program development and requests for proposals (RFPs).
