COPA Bill Passes

The California Orthotics and Prosthetics Association (COPA) is pleased to
announce that COPA-sponsored legislation to create coverage equity for
O&P patients, Assembly Bill 2012 (Emmerson), has unanimously passed the
Assembly Health Committee, the Assembly Business and Professions
Committee and the Assembly Appropriations Committee. Congratulations to
the association, the board and all of you who supported the bill with
letters, calls and patient advocacy! Emmerson’s bill is poised to make
legislative history by requiring that all O&P coverage offered to
Californians cover items as prescribed and without co-pays and caps that
are inconsistent with other covered benefits. This is an exciting time in
