The space between childhood and adulthood can be tricky to navigate—for the growing patients, their parents, and O&P practitioners who can sometimes get caught in the middle.
As child patients grow into adolescents, it’s normal for them to start pushing their boundaries, expanding their social circles, and wanting to make decisions about their treatment plans. It’s also normal for their parents, who had been steering their care, to push back themselves.
