Rani Saxena, DPT, president of Bionic Prosthetics & Orthotics Group, Merrillville, Indiana, has been named small business person of the year by the NW Indiana Small Business Development Center. She will be honored during an awards luncheon on October 26. 
Saxena has more than 20 years of O&P experience and became a part of the leadership team at Bionic P&O in 2014. Today, the clinical group supplies custom prosthetic and orthotic devices to patients in 34 locations across nine states.
“During my post-graduation in physical therapy, I came across prosthetics and orthotics, which is a unique a profession,” she said. “The idea that my day-to-day work can bring a difference in people’s lives is what led me to this field.”
