Job Description

Location: Hicksville, NY (Flagship) → Burlington, MA (Directorship)

Experience Level: 3–5+ Years Post-Certification

Hicksville, NY (Years 1–5) | Burlington, MA (Year 6+)

This Is a Career, Not a Job
Most P&O postings offer a clinic and a salary. This one offers a destination.

A Step Ahead Prosthetics has spent over a decade building a reputation for boutique, patient-centered care across two markets. We are not looking to fill a chair. We are looking for one clinician — the right one — to grow with us, master our model, and eventually own the Boston chapter of this story.

If you are a CPO who wants to spend the next phase of your career becoming genuinely exceptional at your craft, being mentored into operational leadership, and ultimately running a thriving clinical practice in one of the country’s most dynamic healthcare markets — this was written for you.

The Roadmap (Contractually Defined)
We’ve built this path clearly because we take it seriously. Every phase is documented in your employment agreement — no surprises, no moving goalposts.

Phase I — Deep Immersion (Years 1–2, Hicksville NY)

You’ll work directly alongside senior clinical staff, absorbing the ASAP standard of care. High-volume, high-complexity case mix. Real mentorship, not lip service.

Phase II — Business of P&O (Years 3–4, Hicksville NY)

Your scope expands to include insurance strategy, billing operations, and referral network development. You’ll begin quarterly visits to our Burlington office — learning the market, meeting the referral sources, planting your flag.

Phase III — The Handoff (Year 5, NY + Boston)

Bi-monthly rotations in Boston. You’ll be building the professional network and community relationships you’ll need to lead. By the end of this year, Boston knows your name.

Phase IV — Directorship (Year 6+, Burlington MA)

You assume full clinical and operational leadership of the Boston facility. This is your practice to grow. A sweat equity and incentivized buyout structure is on the table for the right candidate.

Compensation & Benefits
We know what this commitment asks of you, and we’ve built the package to reflect it.

  • Base Salary: $100,000–$130,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Performance Incentives: Quarterly bonuses tied to clinical volume and patient outcomes
  • Equity Path: Structured ownership opportunity in the Boston facility
  • Relocation Package: Full relocation support for the NY-to-Boston move, including housing transition assistance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Full health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Generous PTO + paid holidays
  • CE credits and professional development fully supported
Who We’re Looking For
  • ABC-Certified CPO with 3–5+ years post-certification experience
  • Clinically ambitious — you want to be great, not just good
  • Ready to commit to New York for 5 years, with genuine excitement about building a life and career in Boston
  • Someone who wants a partner, not just an employer
