Job Summary and Qualifications

Responsible for oversight & implementation of clinical care for those in need of orthotic & prosthetic devices. Incorporate & coordinate with financial, technical & medical aspects of care. Provide excellent customer service to patients, patient families, colleagues, the community & anyone involved. Nurture existing referral relationships & expand referral base. Provide additional services necessary to maintain and improve the department

 

What you will do in this role:

  •  Provides prosthetic/orthotic care services to patients, to include designing and fitting of the device(s) and educating the patient on the device. 
    • Remains current regarding industry standards and trends.
    •  Participates in call schedule as assigned unless otherwise approved.
    • Participates in program development & on task teams as assigned or requested
  • Communicates effectively with all customers, developing and maintaining strong professional relationships with both internal and external customers, including patients and referring physicians and facilities, as well as maintaining a high level of customer service within the workplace
    • Provides exceptional customer service for each customer encounter.
    • Demonstrates effective, appropriate, and proactive communication with all customers within and outside of the organization.
    • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times, actively protecting private health information.
  • Participates in meetings, in-service and marketing tasks as needed and/or requested.
  • Manages and instructs technical staff with regard to fabrication, modification, and quality control.
    • Assists Technician as necessary in the fabrication of othoroses & prostheses
    • Collaborate with lab to ensure technicians can provide maximum fabrication services.
    • Ensures accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation in accordance with service/department guidelines including, but not limited to, assessment, treatment plan, provision of care and services, and as applicable to the service/department letters of medical necessity, funding forms, prior authorization, and billing.
    • Conforms to department standards with regard to work flow and timeliness.
    • Documentation meets all compliance & reimbursement requirements.
    • Completes other duties to support departmental operations as assigned or request
