Job Description
Located in Birmingham, Ala., UAB Medicine is currently seeking a board certified Orthotist / Prosthetist to join our UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center team. This full-time position has a Monday through Friday work schedule and offers CEU course allocations and on-call pay.
UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center is one of the Southeast’s foremost providers of comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation. Our specialists provide the highest level of care from admission through rehabilitation, and often continuing throughout the patient’s lifetime.
Job Description
Responsible for all patient care; the certified practitioner independently provides or supervises the provision of comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic care as an inpatient, outpatient or on-call basis. This includes patient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of the treatment plan, follow-up, and practice management. In addition, the certified prosthetist and/or orthotist is obligated to support and conform to the professional responsibilities which promote and assure the overall welfare of the patient and the integrity of the profession
Job Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
B.S. in Orthotics/Prosthetics from CAAHEP or NCOPE accredited program or B.S. in any major, plus an Orthotic and/or prosthetic certification from a CAAHEP or NCOPE accredited program.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:
Board Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist; Licensed by the Alabama State Board of Prosthetists and Orthotists
