Mary Free Bed Orthotics & Prosthetics + Bionics, Michigan, announced the retirement of two O&P professionals whose combined service spans more than nine decades: Pat Dorgan, O&P assistant (50 years), and Mark Porth, compliance coordinator (42 years). “Their careers exemplify dedication, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care,” the announcement said.

Dorgan joined Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in 1975, began his career in orthotics in 1980, and expanded into prosthetics in 1990. He earned multiple certifications and became known for his exceptional craftsmanship, problem-solving ability, and hands-on expertise—including his specialty in KAFO design and function. Mary Free Bed said that Dorgan’s “technical skill, creativity, and willingness to mentor others will continue to leave a lasting impact on patients, families, and colleagues alike.”

Porth served in compliance for the past eight years, ensuring his patients received the services they needed while helping teams navigate evolving processes and compliance requirements. He also served as chair of the America Orthotic and Prosthetic Association’s Billing and Coding Committee.
His “depth of knowledge, sound judgment, and steady guidance have made him a trusted resource across the Mary Free Bed System. His tenure was defined by integrity, compassion, and operational excellence.”
