Joe Fairley, CP, owner of Ascent Fabrication, New York, opened a new clinic, Amplify Prosthetics, initiating a pilot program to provide direct prosthetic care. Direct prosthetic care, modeled after a direct primary care model, lets patients manage their prosthetic care by paying a monthly care fee; third-party payers are not involved. Noncustom components are charged at cost to the patient.
“Amplify Prosthetics utilizes a completely digital workflow and 3D printing in order to have the ability to offer this type of care to its patients,” Fairley said.
