Axiobionics, Columbus, Ohio, is planning to move its headquarters and production facilities to Ann Arbor, Michigan, a move that will bring the company a tax credit worth up to $1.4 million over seven years.
“We found a much more patient-friendly state in Michigan than we did in Ohio,” said Philip Muccio, CPO, Axiobionics founder and president. “The state of Michigan is aggressively seeking companies to relocate to the state. It has programs that encourage companies like mine to look at Michigan and say, ‘With these tax codes, we’re going to do better.'”
Muccio told The O&P EDGE that Axiobionics plans to hire between 50 and 100 employees over the next five years.
Muccio also announced the appointment of Joel Dalton as Axiobionics’ executive vice president. Dalton is a mechanical engineer with a master’s of business administration degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
