Jim Fenton

Good Morning:

I am in search of tubular rivets which were in common use for many years by The Pope Brace Co. of Kankakee, IL. They were used in orthotic hip and FAFO joints. If anyone has any in a dusty corner in their lab I would appreciate it very much if you will contact me. The rivet size is for the adult size joint ( 5/8″ diameter head with 5/16″ O,D, shank by ½” (or greater) shank length .

I need four to finish a bilateral hip joint and pelvic belt suspension for a Viet Nam Veteran who walks who is still up and mobile and set in his ways,. i.e. doesn’t want to make any changes . These have been out of production for many years . I realize that I can always substitute solid rivets but peening a SS rivet that size while not overly compressing the needle bearings involved, is a bit of a challenge.

Regards to all.
