diabetic shoes…..

Aaron Laster

Hello everyone,
I am curious about offices doing or not doing diabetic shoes these days. We
have gone round and round about this. We all dislike doing them and
all of the paperwork, of course. We understand so many patients have a need
for them, yet the lack of profit and spent time on these patients is very
frustrating and seems not worth it. What are peoples thoughts on doing
shoes or not.
Then as a secondary question, what are peoples thoughts on getting sent
patients for DM shoes but yet they get AFO or prosthesis from another
office? Do you refuse them unless they get all of their care with you? Is
this legal? How do you prevent being the go to for the shoes.

I am just curious about peoples take on DM shoes, the excessive paperwork,
the lack of profitability yet we have a heart and feel it is still a needed
service to protect so many patients from worsening of their health
condition.

Thanks in advance!
