We have had an attorney office request estimated costs & frequency of
maintenance & replacement of prosthetic parts, which we provided (based on
past patient experiences with same activity levels).
This is a prosthesis with a microprocessor controlled knee.
They are now asking the following:
1. What are the facts that support our opinion (cost of materials,
experience in replacement frequency, etc) & any hard data we would rely upon
when forming that opinion.
2. Statement regarding why the leg/motor/other parts need replacement.
3. A list of exhibits to show the jury parts of the leg that would
require replacement or maintenance.
Can anybody point me in the right direction of where to find published
information on repair/replacement/maintenance of prostheses & components,
especially with regard to the MPK?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
