Remote delivery

michael keene

Good afternoon

I was recently asked about the ethics of sending a complex orthotic device that needs precise fitting and takes about an hour or more to do the custom fitting with making adjustments if the device could be shipped to patients and the delivery and instructions of doffing and donning could be some remotely. In these times of business being on lockdown in their particular state. The device is not a life saving device and does require the patient to use a computer for programming of the device and to have someone help them if possible. I do believe that it is a ethical.

My question is can it be done and the reasons why we shouldn’t do it any advice so others will know as well is welcome. I look forward to your opinion.
