Hanger Coronavirus Activity

Hello everyone,
We wanted to share the action Hanger is taking in light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. First, our goal is to ensure a safe environment for our employees and patients at all of our facilities across the country. As this is an evolving situation, we intend to keep the O&P industry updated on actions we take and the communications we send. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.

Action we have taken up to this point:

* Requiring our staff members to take preventive measures recommended by the CDC to help stop the spread of the virus, including but not limited to: washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoiding contact with others who are sick, and staying home if sick.

* Restricting non-essential employee travel, limiting non-essential visits to our facilities, and encouraging use of virtual meetings.

* Provided all of our 800+ nationwide locations mandatory training with prescriptive preventive measures and resources, including: facts on the virus, reinforcement of facility cleaning guidelines (including the temporary removal of toys in our pediatric areas), guidance on personal protective care and use, and instructions on reporting a COVID-19 exposure.

* Communicating with patients through various channels to reschedule their appointment if they have a fever, cough and/or difficulty breathing, have traveled to or had close contact with someone who has traveled to high risk countries, or have tested positive for or been exposed to someone with COVID-19.

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to present itself in locations throughout the U.S., we are focused on protecting the health and safety of our patients, employees, associates and communities. We are closely monitoring the evolving situation, specifically, guidance and updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO), and as a direct result of our commitment to safety, we are taking several proactive steps to help limit exposure to the virus.

In addition to the steps we are already taking at our Hanger Clinic locations, effective immediately, we request you make the following adjustments when interacting with Hanger Clinic:

* Limit your visits to our clinical sites to only those that are essential and requested by our clinicians.

* Sales calls and technical support functions should be conducted virtually via phone or video conference.
