I personally have no current affiliation with FAOP. I did spend 8 years volunteering for FAOP because, as the parent of a child with cerebral palsy, I believe strongly in providing exceptional care to all patients who seek out orthotic and prosthetic intervention. FAOP believes strongly in protecting my ability as a practitioner to provide this care to my patients while ensuring that I am fairly reimbursed for my services.
Why take courses from FAOP? Because every dollar FAOP receives from it’s Annual Conference and online courses is used to protect you and your businesses!
Could you save a few dollars somewhere else? Maybe. But at what cost? Make your money work for you by placing it in the hands of individuals who volunteer their time to protect our livelihood, instead of lining the pockets of those who draw a paycheck from their institution.
For reference, FAOP’s lobbyist has:
* Prevented physical therapists from billing prosthetic L codes in Florida
* Required FL Medicaid to pay for L Codes previously not allowed, including allowing 2 cushion liners per prosthesis for amputees (and is currently working to require payment for 2 locking liners per prosthesis) and carbon fiber OTS AFOs
* Monitored and put a stop to any bills or laws that could negatively impact your paycheck
The FAOP Annual Conference is a wonderful time to connect with your peers and receive the credits needed to renew your license in a beautiful venue.
