LS support that creates feeling of heat

Hello Listmembers,
A referral came in today telling me that he once had a low back support
that plugs into the wall and creates a sensation of heat when wearing it on
his back but he said it does’l feel hot to his hand and does not massage
the back either. He said he received it years ago in one of the Carolina
states.
Does anyone have a clue as to what he is referring to?
