We are in the process of getting a satellite office certified. We have been told that we need a separate NPI # for that location. It is very unclear in any Medicare requirements. When I posed this question to a Medicare representative, she said a separate NPI # is not necessary if the satellite office it is part of the main operation and not a separate entity. So do I need a separate NPI # for an ABC/BOC certified satellite offices? If so, where is the documentation that states this requirement?
