Dear List,
I am looking for suggestions to aid in doffing a hard-to-take-off skin suction transfemoral socket. The elderly patient has a long residual limb (almost KD) and soft tissue. The socket is not too tight and donning the socket with a pull-in sock (zip-whiz) is no problem. The patient finds it easier to remove the prosthesis if he uses a little cream (Procomfort Gel) during donning but this results in socket slippage and rotation. He finds talcum powder unhelpful.
Any suggestions are appreciated and can be compiled into a follow-up posting.
thanks,
