KX Modifiers for AFO and KAFO??

So, I am reading the LCD for AFO/KAFO (L27229), “Suppliers must add a KX
modifier to the AFO/KAFO base and addition codes…” When did KX modifiers
become anything other than for providing a unilateral lower extremity
amputee with a prosthesis? Is there a list of KX modifiers with
descriptions specific to AFOs and KAFOs? Will this include limiting
component choices for various K levels by coming out with energy storing,
dynamic response and/or flexible keel AFOs with or without multi-axial
rotation units, or vertical shock reducing pylons? I can’t wait to see the
billing codes to go along with this!
