Shane Wurdeman, scientific liason for the Gait Society, has posted a summary and initiated some great discussion in the Journal Club section.
Intro to Shane’s summary:

“This was a very exciting review. The reviews goes through the different methods that are currently being reported for testing the stiffness of an AFO. These include bench testing (no actual person wearing), simulation (simulation of a limb), and human subjects testing (person wearing the AFO).”

“Does anyone have a good technique for measuring stiffness? Perhaps as a profession we feel the stiffness is important, but as individual practitioners do we notice relevant differences in our outcomes by varying stiffness?”
