Prosthetic Fitting

Hari Vigneswaran

Hello!

I am part of a student group from the University of Illinois working
specifically with bellow the elbow amputees. Our group, Illini Prosthetics,
is traveling to Guatemala to test three of our prosthetic devices. We will
be working with ten specific patients and will be using their measurements
for future modifications of the prototypes. We already use a method for
measuring, but we were wondering if there were better methods for taking
measurements that are effective for long term use. If anyone has protocols
for measurements or key measurements we should note, please let me know. It
might also help to know that our device is meant to be somewhat of a
universal fit device.

Any advice would be much appreciated,

-Hari
