History of Prosthetics in the National Spotlight

Cassi Ubben

There is a group of outstanding 8th grade girls from Iowa bringing
national attention to prosthetics and the impact it has made on our
nation. They are taking their original research on the history of
prosthetics to the National History Day Contest at the University of
Maryland, College Park.

They have done an amazing job of writing and performing a play about the
history of prosthetics and we believe this is something every
prosthetist should see. We want to encourage you to take a few minutes
to view the video and leave a comment for them about why you are in the
prosthetic profession and additional information on the history of
prosthetics.

These girls have chosen our story to tell on National History Day. They
are inspired by you and we think they’ll inspire you.

See pictures, video and read their story at http://opga.wordpress.com/.

To those of you who have already left a helpful comment on the blog, the
girls really appreciate the help and hope to use your information for
their performance at nationals June 13-17. The more sources they have
for their bibliography, they better chance they have to win the National
History Day competition.
