Are there any other pediatric manual locking knees besides the Euro
International and Otto Bock 3R93?
I have a hip disarticulation patient that is currently using the Otto Bock
knee. No matter how I adjust the tension on the release, it always seems a
bit funky and inconsistent. The patient has weak upper extremity strength
and has difficulty unlocking the knee. Perhaps it is the particular unit
itself in this case?
Also, I have never used the Euro International Knee. It looks almost
exactly like the Otto Bock knee from pictures I have seen. Is it essential
the same knee?
1. We have used both. Just started using the Euro knee recently and it
seems well built. We mainly started using it for cost reasons. Tru-life
has developed a pediatric locking knee. The rep just brought us some
information on it. You will have to call Tru-life to see if it has been
released. It is not on the web site yet.
2. Fillauer makes the MiniMac Knee. Single axis, automatic locking, stance
flexion with friction adjustment.
3. I think DAW has one. Made in China if I’m not mistaken. Pretty good one
if I remember correctly.
4. Try TiMed, 800 805 3346, they have a pediatric free knee that is almost
identical to the Otto Bock. I’m not sure if they offer a manual lock.
5. maybe the mini mac from fillaur is an option?
6. Our 3K41 is very similar, BUT it is longer and a bit heavier. I have
spoken with my Technical Director -Judith Trinkl and I am sending you two
ideas from the technicians from Germany (Streifeneder ortho.production).
