COPA’s bill to require insurers to provide devices “as prescribed” with
no onerous caps or copays will be heard in its first policy committee on
April 18th. In order for it to be successful, we need many letters of
support in the committee analysis. In order for your letter of support to
be listed in the analysis, it must be received by this Wednesday at
12:00. If you have not already done so, please visit COPA’s web site at:

tm for details on writing a letter of support. Make sure a copy of your
letter is faxed to COPA’s Lobbyist, Bryce Docherty, at (916) 446-4333.
Also – IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT IF ANY PRACTITIONERS ARE IN THE
FOLLOWING AREAS, THAT WE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO SEE THE LISTED LEGISLATORS
THIS COMING WEEK. It is their spring break and they will be back in their
districts. Please call any that are in your area and make an appointment
to see them in their office. It would be great if you bring a patient
with you who can tell how important their devices are in their lives and
to explain the difficulties they are facing getting coverage for them. If
you would like help arranging a meeting with one of these legislators or
would like to go over items you may want to bring or discuss at the
