Re: BoyCott of Otto Bock and other companies that sell direct to patients

How far will you go to boycott. Soon you will run out of suppliers. If th=
e wholesalers do not have a clinical or fabrication business going now then=
they sure have many agents out there that do, and they are your compititor=
s as well. So where do you draw the line. If these companies start up a b=
usiness and employ qualified clinicians and technicians, who are you to sto=
p it? I agree with you if they are semi trained sales staff, but is that a=
n assumption or a fact?

Mr. Rinko make a very good point. This is occurring all over the=20
country. I applaud the New Jersey Association.
I heard last week that a Florida practitioner was approached by Otto=20
Bock to become the “custom” source. From what I was told, Bock’s=20
company would market directly to the referring sources and any patient=20
requiring a “custom” device they could not deliver would then be=20
directed to the contracted “custom” provider. You wind up working for=20
Bock! They now have central fab facilities in every region of the=20
country, making it easy for their untrained sales reps to even do many=20
of the “custom” devices.
Be vigilant
Be aggressive
Hurt their wallet.
