“My guess is these are plastic artificial fishing worms that you purchase
from WalMart, etc. Sounds strange, but I see no reason why these would not
work to help fill a distal end socket void. I would certainly be an
inexpensive way to pad a socket.”

“I supply my patients with a product called woolly worms to put in the
bottom of their sockets. Woolly worms may be the same as wiggly worms, if
so, all it is, is an unravelled woolen stump sock. I hope this information
will solve your wiggly worms mystery!!!

“I remember reading that the man who invented the Alpha liner got the idea
from gel fishing worms.”

“When I worked in the UK we would pull wool socks apart line by line and pop
them in the bottom of a socket in order to provide a gentle sensation to
maintain vascularisation. The reason for pulling apart the woollen socks
was that due to having been stitched they remained coiled and springy.
(When they pack down, you throw them in the washing machine (in a stocking)
and they “spring” back to life.) This was generally done to fill any space
caused by shrinkage and prevent the potential for varicose hyperplasia; we
called these “woolly worms” …
maybe that is what they are looking for??”

>The HMM is trying to track down a product (s) that they believe to

>out. Any idea?
>They are also looking for alternative ideas to Juzo socks, again any
