I thought I would answer this to the entire list.
I saw my first and last case of this in 1983 as an Orthopedic
Technologist/Orthotist in NYC
If this is a true case of Osteitis Pubitis (slightly separated pubis, post
partum), then she might require surgery to stabilize with bone implant and
then treat with an elastic binder for about 8 weeks. (that was the treatment
back then)
My patient had a year of pain while being treated by her OB/GYN before
finally being refered to an Orthopedic Surgeon. I diagnosed the patient
while taking a true lateral x-ray of her hips. I pressed down on her knee
while her leg was in the frog hip x-ray position. She had a terrible pain
in her symphysis pubis.
If this is the terrible “sprung pelvis”…..good luck. I never had to treat
that.
